Just one kiss to break the spell… that’s all she needs.

Cursed by a jealous witch, Penelope Delacroix’s spells are all going wrong and backfiring, creating havoc in town.

The vengeful witch won’t quit until she siphons all of Penelope’s powers.

And all it will take is one perfect, heartfelt kiss from Penelope’s one true love to put an end to all this turmoil.

Shh… there’s a problem. It’s a secret.

Penelope has no idea that Dr. Lucas Collier, the compassionate local veterinarian, is in love with her. Nor does he know that she’s in love with him.

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

But I know and I have to do something about it.

But what can I do, since I’m only her cat.

Every witch has a cat.

I’m hers.

I’m Talisman.

And I’m going to fix this.

Author’s Note: From USA Today Bestselling Author, Tami Stark, comes this funny, twisty cozy mystery series featuring a group of smart animal sleuths with personality to spare. This book is a PREQUEL that introduces the enticing village of Shadowkeep and ends with a cliffhanger. The story continues and ends in the full-length novel, Cataclysmic, available now!

This is a really cute book. It is in the cat’s point of view. It was a little different. But when I was younger like a teenager, I read Julie’s wolf pack. The first two books were in Julie’s point of view then the last one was in a wolf’s view. The second one was Swashbuckling Cats. Catatonic was only the third book that I read like that. I wrote like that years ago in yahoo groups. Who remembers yahoo groups? I would always join the wolves roleplaying. I loved it. Anyways, I like these kind of books cause you can’t think like a human. You would have think like a cat. What a cat would do. A mind of a cat! A witch’s familiar to be exact.

It follows a black cat who is trying to help his witch, Penelope to solve a mystery of what is draining her powers. Him and a great horned owl name is Sage, goes out at night after his owner goes to sleep, to see if they can find anything. Sage lives with Talisman.

The plot of story is a great one. It grabbed me in from the first page. It is a light and easy read. It did end with a cliffhanger though. If you like the TV show, ‘Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,’ then you will like this book. It is for you.

I love the furry characters. They were the stars of this book. They are so cute and so adorable. They will keep you entertain throughout this book. There were some funny parts in it as well.

Overall, the plot, the characters, and story was really good. It had me smiling and laughing in some parts. I do want to read the last two books in this series. I like the different outlook of being a cat. Like the point of view. I hope you would pick this book if it got your attention!

    1. I liked this book. It was a cute book. It is a unique POV! I don’t know if the yahoo groups are still active anymore. It’s been years since I have been on them.
